Hi, I'm Dr. Yael Bali
Over 16 Years of Veterinary Experience
I was born and grew up in Mexico City. Since I was a child, animals were a big part of my life. Helping them was what I loved the most. What better way of doing so than becoming a veterinarian? In June 1992 I graduated from Veterinary School at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), I started out as a conventional vet, got married, moved to Cancun, Mexico, and began to build my family. Becoming a mother and living in Cancun made me conscious of the damage of plastic in the oceans, it made me decide to reduce my workload as a vet and help care for the planet. For several years I was the coordinator of my area (Cancun-Tulum) for the Ocean’s Conservancy, educating people about the damage of plastic debris in the marine environment and coordinating the international Coastal Cleanup. The health of the planet is as important as our and our animal’s health, on that principle I am also vegan and I do support vegan diets for dogs.
Acupuncture
I stumbled across acupuncture as a way of helping a family member, which brought me to study human acupuncture. From the beginning I was amazed at how Chinese medicine defines, prevents, and treats disease or body disharmonies. It opened a whole new approach to healing for me. By 2005 I had completed the 3 years certification and shortly after that a young dog named Pippo was hit by a car and as a result, was paralyzed in all four legs, I treated him with my new knowledge and after a month of acupuncture treatments his front legs were back, he lived happily with the help of a wheelchair. Seeing what acupuncture did for him motivated me to get certified.
Food Therapy
n 2009, I got certified in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine by the Chi Institute (today, Chi University) which included acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and food therapy. Food therapy had a big impact on what I learned at university. It opened my eyes to the importance of whole fresh food for a healthy life. That same year in 2009 I did a certification in Canine Physical Rehabilitation at the Canine Rehabilitation Institute, both in the USA, these certifications, not only gave me the foundation of my practice today but incited me to learn other complementary modalities that I further included in my toolbox. I added Ozone Therapy in 2015 which I studied in Madrid, Spain, at Instituto Lineo, and Bioregulatory medicine, through the CIVT (College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies).
In December 2010 my family and I moved to Israel. Today my practice is located in Kfar Noar Meir Shreya, the name of the clinic is Meshule-vet which means Integrative in Hebrew, as I share my practice with a conventional veterinarian.
