Bioregulatory Medicine (Homotoxicology)
Bioregulatory medicine uses natural remedies to regulate the body’s biological functions, reinforce the defense mechanisms, get rid of toxins, and thus promote healing, used mainly to treat chronic disease and musculoskeletal pain and disorders
It is based on the concept developed by Heinrich Reckeweg, a German physician that defines disease and its symptoms as the effects of poor nutrition together with an increased toxic burden that is devastating to the body, and as an accumulation of toxins occurs different diseases develop out of a series of responses initiated by the self-healing predisposition of the body to eliminate toxins or control their effect. In order to heal all toxins must be expelled from the body, and it is done by the administration of formulas that work synergistically to stimulate the body’s inherent capacity to heal itself by joining into a complex set of bioregulatory mechanisms to improve cell metabolism and restore body functions. Reckeweg developed a series of formulas and founded a company called Heel which produced his various remedies. Traumeel is one of the most commonly known remedies.
